Galaxy At War: World At Ransom, Chapter 1

Khari Factory, Islamabad, Pakistan
29 June, 1999, 0145 hours

"BLAM!" A gunshot rang out as an armed guard's head snapped back, blood splattering on the cold steel walls of Khari Explosives Factory, Islamabad, Pakistan. A dark, shadowy figure stepped out of the shadows, smirking as he blew the smoking barrel of his Desert Eagle pistol.

That was the last of the guards guarding the explosives factory. The factory was reported to have been selling some of its explosives to a group of dangerous international terrorists known as the Army of the Fallen or AF for short. The figure, codenamed Hunter, was assigned this mission to infiltrate this factory and sabotage the explosives stored in the explosives storeroom. Hunter worked for a covert and top secret UN organization known as the International Defence Agency or INDF for short. The INDF was like any ordinary secret agency, doing infiltration, sabotage, etc. Hunter was one of its best agents, always winning the annual INDF Best Agent competition.

Hunter dashed along the dim-lit corridors of the factory, checking every corner to see if there were any survivors of his vicious onslaught earlier. It was not long before he found the entrance to the storeroom; it was an ordinary-looking steel door. However, Hunter knew better. The door was fitted with the state-of-the-art security systems, an excellent lock system, among many others. The door was designed to withstand even a C-4 explosive blast. Fortunately, Hunter was prepared. Snickering, he fished out a key from one of his many pockets: a key that he took from one of the ill-fated guards of this factory. Still snickering, he stuck the key in the lock.

"BBBOOOOOMMMM!"

The resulting explosion blew the door off its hinges and demolished half of the entire surrounding wall. A masked figure stood a hundred meters away at the other end of the storeroom, holding a smoking Matador Rocket-Propelled-Grenade (RPG) launcher. Grabbing his Colt Commando assault rifle, he crept slowly to the smoking mass of rubble.

Hunter's body was nowhere to be found.

Although the explosion was enough to blow up the whole factory, it didn't. The explosives storeroom was empty...
